Copyright FAQ General Copyright Statement By purchasing Treetrunk's designs, you agree to the following copyright license: Treetrunk Designs retains all rights and ownership of our designs. Only the original purchaser of Treetrunk's designs may sew out, store, save, and back up our software. Only the original purchaser holds individual license to sew out on personal items, gifts, and for-sale items. No one other than the original purchaser may retain a copy or copies of software by Treetrunk Designs. No one may transfer, share, or sell Treetrunk software. If you wish to give software by Treetrunk Designs as a gift, order those designs sets and we will be happy to wrap and ship those designs for you. Can I sell items with Treetrunk embroideries on them? Yes! Individuals who purchase our designs are welcome to use our embroideries sewn out on shirts and other items sold at boutiques, etc. Any company or individual wishing to mass produce items with our embroideries must contact info@treetrunk.com to inquire about pricing. Can I share Treetrunk design files and software with others, including close friends and relatives? No. Individuals who purchase our designs only receive an individual license to use those designs. Our business could fold if sharing occurred, ultimately preventing future designs for your enjoyment. Can I share Treetrunk freebie designs that I previously downloaded, especially if my friend just got on the Web and could not have received previous freebies? No. Treetrunk Designs maintains copyright and distribution rights on all designs we create. We do not archive our freebie designs because they often end up as part of a future design set. Can I change a Treetrunk design and sell or share a new design with only a portion of your software in the new design? Can I sell or share a Treetrunk design that has been changed? No. Treetrunk Designs painstakingly creates quality embroideries. Each detail of every design takes quite a bit of work. Even portions of our designs are copyrighted, but we do realize that many of the new home embroidery software makes editing possible. We understand that you might want to resize a design, and that is just fine. We also understand that you will want to take parts of our designs and combine with other designs. That is just fine, as long as you only use that design yourself. Never, never sell or share any design that contains software by Treetrunk Designs.
