I've been told I should wear purple with a red hat upon my head.
You see, my age has advanced a bit, but I'm not exactly dead!

I'm working on my attitude -- carefree, cool, and light --
Spitting here and sitting there, have patience -- I'll get it right!

I've taken up more pleasured walks, lingering when I please --
Picking flowers, watching birds, and swatting at the bees.

If I don't acknowledge you, I mean no disrespect.
Afterall, at my ripening age, I have an image to protect!

I think it's time to celebrate the heightening of my years
With lots of fun and silliness, joining with my peers.

Yes, I think I will wear purple..... starting with today!
With a bright red hat upon my head,
Who cares what others say?
