I set out to build a business,
but what I built is so much more.
Who knew that kitchen table
would open up a door?

I gathered what I thought I'd need --
fabric, thread, and paper.
Whoever thought a design idea
would lead to such a caper?

While others slept, my mind would race.
What will I do? Cross Stitch? Lace?

Computer crashes, nests of thread,
and midnight's desperation
have proved this old dog can learn new tricks --
At least, that's been my observation.

With e-mail friends and tech support
to ease up on the strife,
I meant to build a business.
Instead, I built a life!
