Our Legacy Quilt is basically a traditional nine-patch quilt with sashing.
Each "patch" consists of 17 designs, with the entire quilt featuring 153 different lacey designs.
Each design is stitched with one color of thread and NO JUMP STITCHES!
This is an ideal project for a novice embroiderer!
If you're not a quilter, just hem the edges and use the quilt top as a bedspread!

For variety, turn the nine-patch on point.
For a round night table, try stitching a "patch" on bridal tulle with dissolving stabilizer.
Finish the edges with flat lace.
To complete the ensemble, stitch two pillowshams using two different "patches".

We will be making each of the nine patches available as individual sets
for your 4x4 hoop, 5x7 hoop, or your 6x10 hoop.
You can complete your Legacy Quilt by stitching all nine of the patches,
or customize your quilt with as few or as many patches as you please!

Complete assembly instructions are included for stitching each "patch"
as well as constructing the entire traditional nine-patch quilt
for a queen/full bed (finished quilt size 86" x 86").

many of which contain traditional hardanger-style stitches!

6x10 hoop -- Finished design size is 141mm x 141mm -- available in HUS or PES
5x7 hoop -- Finished design size is 123mm x 123mm -- available in HUS, JEF, PES, or VIP
4x4 hoop -- Finished design size is 97mm x 97mm -- available in HUS, PES, or VIP

To assemble one patch of the quilt top shown above,
you stitch the four "L" shaped blocks first
on a tightly woven cotton fabric using a tearaway stabilizer.
Tear away the stabilizer.
Trim blocks leaving a 1/2" margin around embroidery.
Using 1/4" seams, sew the four blocks together.
Press your seams open.
Match up the seam lines to the centering points on your hoop and
stitch the center wreath style design, again, using a tearaway stabilizer.
Stitch and trim the remaining blocks.
Attach the side blocks to both sides of your center piece.
You have now assembled nine of the 17 designs.
Attach the top row and bottom row of blocks
to complete your first "patch"!
