This collection was designed with flexibility in mind. White washable felt is the ideal fabric to stitch these wings on. It will allow you to reduce your stitches and stitching time significantly if you skip the white stitching. The blank message wing (bottom row on left) makes customizing easy.

INSTRUCTIONS:
If you are using white fabric, skip over the first color (white). If the second color is ALSO white, be sure to stitch it, as it will appear int he flag part of some designs. Stitch all the colors, except for the last one (navy blue). Slide a second piece of white washable felt under the hoop, without re-hooping. Stitch the last color (navy blue). The second layer of fabric hides all the unsightly bobbin threads. Un-hoop and trim felt close to the navy blue stitching line. Finger press a crease down the center. Hot glue wings onto small stuffed animals or dolls. For extra strength, take a couple of tacking stitches to secure the wings.

The your new "angels" are ideal for flea markets, bazaars, and boutique sales. You'll certainly want to make your own legion of angels! For variety, apply a spray-on glitter or irridescent flakes once the wings are stitched and trimmed. Also, try varying the backing fabric to complement the colors used in the stitched side of the wings. Add a ribbon loop so your new "angel" can fly from the rearview mirror of your car or hang from your bedpost.
