Last
year, while shopping in a dollor store,
I purchased a bunch of 16"
long beautiful tassels in assorted colors.
I just knew that some very special ladies lived within those tassels.
Some of
them of them are pictured above. And others you will meet in
later volumes.
In fact, my sister has already started sending in requests for other
"ladies of distinction".
Here is a closer and more detailed view of what the cross stitch
designs look like.
There is a file for the front as well as a file for the back of
each lady.
Since
these designs are made to fit a particular product,
they will only be available in one hoop size.
This volume includes
a Red Hat Lady, a Geisha, a Bride,
Mrs. Santa Claus, a Victorian Lady of means, and a Victorian Lady
of lesser means.
Now welcome to the fashion show of our
Tassel Ladies..........
Notice the fine white gloves on the Red Hat Lady
and the scalloped scarf that is draped and tied around her neck.
She enjoys the beautiful detail across the back of her coat.
The lavender silk flower adorns her classic felt hat.
She will be attending a society meeting this afternoon.
Notice the Geisha's ornate fan that she holds as her sleeves trail
long below her hands.
See the finery tucked into her heavy black hair?
From the back of her kimono, notice that her obi is styled to complement
her fan and sleeves,
and that a parasol completely hides the back of her headdress.
Her years of training have lead to grace and service that even her
peers strive to emulate.
On the Bride, notice her delicate heirloom pearl necklace and earrings.
Her fresh peach rose bouquet presents beautiful undertones to her
red hair.
I believe I can smell the roses from here!
Her lace veil is attached to a golden tiara that has been in her
family for several generations.
From the back, notice her lace edged bustle.
We wish her many well lived years with the love of her life.
On
Mrs. Santa Claus, notice the warm fur that edges her hat and coat.
She has no trouble staying warm in her snuggly belted coat and long
stocking hat.
I wonder whose gift she holds in her hands!
We know whose heart she holds!
This Victorian Lady is just stepping out of a coach.
She takes her hand out of her white mink muff as her footman offers
his hand for steady support during her descent to the cobblestone
street below.
Just two steps away is a marble walkway.
Her shimmering skirt catches the moonlight as her footman releases
his grip.
The driver heads the coach to a local park so the horses can be
tended to,
while our Victorian Lady dances the night away.
Our second Victorian Lady dressed in green is a minister's wife.
Her garb is respectably modest, yet warm even on the coldest of
nights.
Her white rabbitskin muff has warmed her hands many times that they
have been folded in prayer.
This evening, she and her husband will be the guests of honor
in the home of a family in their congregation.
Food, fun, and fellowship will fill her evening and make it a memorable
one.
Easy
Project Idea
Stitch each file on a non-fray fabric like felt or fleece.
Trim close to stitching line.
Starting at the bottom of the outfit front,
attach it to the back of the outfit with a small whipstitch or a
small bead of glue.
Be sure to leave a small hole at the top of the head for the tassel
loop to go through.
These ladies add elegance to any doorknob. Put one on a knob of
a large dresser or hutch.
In fact, if you know you will be hanging her where her back will
never be seen,
you can skip the back stitchout and just use a blank piece of fabric.
