To make one patch of this ninepatch quilt top,
stitch the first file FOUR times on a tightly woven cotton fabric using a tearaway stabilizer.
Tear away the stabilizer.
Trim each of the four blocks to a 5" square.
Using 1/4" seams, sew the stitchouts together to form a fourpatch square.
Be sure the blocks are stitched together leaving the empty design area towards the center.
This is where the center medallion will be stitched.
Press your seams open.
Match up the seamlines to the centering points on your hoop
and stitch file 1a -- the center medallion -- also using a tearaway stabilizer.
For variety, stitch the center medallion in a different shade of the rest of the lace.
