A
tribute to the heirloom quilts designed and appliqued
first
in the Baltimore area in the 1840s and 1850s
Here
are our Baltimore sets stitched into a complete bedroom ensemble.
Here's the finished bedtable from Tone-onTone,
Vol.1!
Baltimore
Album quilts are not just a beauty
to behold, they also reveal a bit of history!
Quilts from that era have locked within each square a story about
its creator.
To achieve
an exquisite quilted effect, after you complete the machine cross
stitching,
slide a lowloft batting beneath the hoop and then a layer of muslin
under the batting.
Finish the design by quilting with white backstitching.
With this process,
you can make an heirloom quilt in a matter of days instead of
months or years.
Also included with this set are the heart designs shown between
the quilt blocks.
If
an entire quilt sounds like a daunting challenge, try a mini
quilt!
Stitch five of your favorite blocks and four of the BONUS
Blocks.
Stitch all nine blocks together.
Put a layer of batting and backing fabric behind the stitched
blocks.
Machine quilt (stitch in the ditch) and bind the edges for a unique
wallhanging!
**EASY PROJECT IDEA**
Simple elegance is beautifully demonstrated with a tone-on-tone
table runner.
Stitch out five or six BONUS Blocks and attach them in a line.
Turn under the edges to finish.
The BONUS Block only requires one color of thread and has NO JUMP
STITCHES!
What could be easier?
