PARTY
POTHOLDERS PROJECT IDEA:
1. Hoop your fabric and stabilizer.
2. Stitch Colors 1 through 4.
3. Place two old washcloths under hoop as potholder padding.
4. Place backing fabric (such as muslin or holiday print) under
washcloths with the print facing towards the bottom of your machine.
5. Stitch Color 5.
6. Unhoop and trim potholder as close to border stitching as possible,
being careful not to cut border stitches.
7. With a very close zigzag or satin stitch, stitch all the way
around the border by starting in the center of one of the sides,
not on a corner.
8. Add plastic loop if desired.
** Since I never hang potholders (I keep them in a basket on my
counter), I never put a loop on them.
These are ideal hostess gifts.
In fact, couldn't everyone use some new festive Christmas potholders?
The designs for the 4x4
hoop do NOT have the in-the-hoop border.
This collection of designs has alot of flexibility.
You can easily change the color of your filigree, ribbon, and gemstone.
Imagine
copper filigree with a purple ribbon and a dangling amethyst.
Imagine
